In January 2016 the residents of Russell County were called to a special option election to decide whether to allow the sale of beer, wine and spirits by licensed vendors, county-wide. Voter turnout was high and the voter majority cast their ballots to allow legal alcohol sales by a wide margin. This overturned the county being designated “dry” for the past 80+ years.
The City government has now adopted the required ordinances and laws to govern the permitting, licensing and inspection of vendors selling alcoholic beverages within the limits of the City Of Russell Springs.
Any business wishing to apply for a license to sell alcohol in the city limits will need to go through the process outlined in the Ordinance, which you can download below, and then sign up in person at City Hall.
